As with previous works of art in urban or rural environments, Christo and Jeanne-Claude will continue their unprecedented commitment to respecting and protecting the environment for Over The River. The installation team will work closely with nearby communities, local governments, the Bureau of Land Management, the Colorado Department of Transportation and other agencies to avoid or minimize impacts associated with traffic, recreation, wildlife and the environment.
The table below outlines the phases and timeline for Over The River's installation, exhibition and removal. This schedule is based on preliminary analysis, so it is important to note that the timeframes listed are estimates only and may change as additional information becomes available during the course of the Environmental Impact Statement process. There will also be overlap between some of the various phases of installation, since crews will oftentimes be able to start the next phase while work on the previous phase is still in progress.
